Introductie

Herman van de Werfhorst obtained his PhD at the University of Nijmegen. From 2000 to 2002 he was Prize Research Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford University. He has been teaching sociology at the University of Amsterdam since 2002, first as assistant professor (2002-2006) and currently as associate professor (since 2006). His research interests include the role of education in issues of social stratification and mobility, labour markets, and the transition from school to work.
